Michael Donnelly is a well-networked veteran communicator with an in-depth wealth of knowledge for a wide variety of financial advancement, communications, marketing, news media, special events and political/public affairs programs/projects. He is thoroughly experienced in all aspects of communications, external/internal as well as development of awareness/capital campaign programs, plus all entities relating to profit or not-for-profit activities.
At present, Michael serves as a Consultant for Employee Relations Associates, aligned with the firm’s Outplacement Division. Through the years, he has counseled numerous individuals regardless of their professional levels, or status, undergoing a wide variety of various “Career Transition” Programs.
Michael is also the Executive Director of the Rochester Italian Heritage Foundation of Rochester, Inc. The foundation’s primary goal is providing financial support in the form of scholarships for deserving high school students. The organization, which has been operative for nearly a half century, also supports other charitable entities.
Michael has served as Vice President of Organizational Development, Easter Seals New York. He was directly responsible for a variety of financial advancement initiatives/programs supporting the operations of the Diagnostic and Treatment Center, Group Homes plus image enhancement of the agency offering services to those with disabilities.
In addition, Michael has served as Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer, The Genesee Hospital Foundation, Rochester, NY. He administered an $18 million Foundation, responsible for all disciplines to include: Annual Giving, Capital Campaign, Major Gift Solicitation, Planned Giving and Special Events Activities.
At one time, he was a manager of Worldwide Communications Programs, Eastman Kodak Company. For nearly a quarter-century, Michael interfaced with the likes of AT&T, Bausch & Lomb, Coke, IBM, Xerox, McDonald’s, and PepsiCo. He also has extensive experience in dealing with the news media professions.
From 1972 – 1987, he served as a Kodak Manager of Corporate Communications. His duties encompassed awareness/communications activities for some 20 areas with extensive interface with senior management and news media entities, both in Rochester, NY and nationwide. He was also aligned with Kodak’s Health Science Division.
One of Michael’s Consultation projects was in 1994 when he served as Director of Communications/Press Secretary for Tom Golisano, an Independence Party candidate seeking the Governorship of New York.
Other communications/consultation projects include Lincoln Life Insurance/National Forensics League, the JASON Foundation for Education, The Foundation
Holliman Associates, Newport, PA as a Senior Consultant. The firm specializes in Capital Campaign Programs for churches, schools, hospitals, and community organizations. While with Holliman Associates, Michael has directed successful Capital Campaigns in Munster, IN; Arlington, WA; Loveland, CO; Somers, NY; State College, PA; Grosse Point Farms, MI; Fort Lauderdale, FL; and Hagerstown, MD. He has also completed numerous development audits and feasibility studies.
Michael has held professional positions with The DuPont Company, Wilmington, DE; United Press International (UPI), Columbus, OH; and as a broadcast journalist in Northeast Ohio.
He holds a B.S. Degree, Broadcast Communications, Kent State University, Kent, OH. Michael is active in a variety of community organizations and professional
